Accessibility statement

DraftThese are the current binding terms for the Locals pilot (version pilot-4). They are undergoing final legal review and may be refined; you will be asked to accept any updated version.

Locals wants every surfer and coach to be able to use the service, including people using assistive technology. This statement describes where the service stands against the Israeli accessibility standard (IS 5568, which adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), what already works, what does not yet, and how to tell us when something is in your way.

Our commitment

The service aims to conform to Israeli Standard 5568 at level AA. Accessibility is treated as part of the product, not an add-on: several accessibility properties are enforced by automated tests that run before every deployment.

What is built in today

The interface supports keyboard navigation and screen-reader labels on interactive controls; every interactive control keeps a minimum touch target of 44×44 pixels, enforced by an automated test; the full interface is available in English, Russian, and Hebrew, with true right-to-left layout in Hebrew; text is real text rather than images of text, and pages reflow at phone, tablet, and desktop widths; videos never play automatically.

Known limitations

Coaching videos are uploaded by coaches and generally carry no captions or audio description — they are informal training footage, and the coach's feedback is provided as written text alongside them. The optional 3D pose viewer is inherently visual and has no non-visual equivalent. A formal conformance audit by an accessibility specialist has not yet been performed; this statement will be updated when it has.

If any part of the service is hard or impossible for you to use, we want to know. During the pilot, report accessibility issues through your coach or the in-app feedback button; your coach can escalate them to the service operator. We aim to acknowledge reports within 2 business days.

During this invite-only pilot the service is free and is not open to the public. We build toward the standard as described above, and the reporting channel above is open for any access difficulty. The scope of the service’s duties under the accessibility regulations will be settled before it opens more widely.
